Obedience
If Israel had obeyed God in the promise land there wouldn’t be any enemies left to fight. So it is with us. We get orders, do our own thing and suffer the consequences, or do we? Perhaps there many ways to the goal set before us and we can’t always be good boys and girls. God leaves space for us because in his infinite knowledge and wisdom understands what we will and won’t do in each and every step we take. There is always provision, it may not be the easiest path but it will get us where we need to go. We don’t seem to actually have free choice but at least we are allowed to think we do.
