Provision

Be anxious for nothing, for your God knows what you need before you even have need of them. Perhaps my greatest test is the reaching for something that I think I need, usually it’s a want, way before I need it. If in this one area I could learn to rest then I could appreciate the provision God has for me without all the stress and fretting, My head is always trying to outdo God.

Our society is geared around getting, going and doing, because of this we have a tendency to try to railroad our way around life, pushing and shoving to arrive. Arrive? What the hell is wrong with us, when we get to the nowhere we are racing to we are never satisfied and we take off for the next thing, never taking the time that their is an inner universe we need to discover that is far more satisfying when we get there than anything in the external world. Take a look around you is there anyone who is honestly satisfied with there gains in this system? I have never met an honest one that was, but on the other hand there are many who are satisfied over and over again, with their internal quest.

It is said that God spans the heavens with his hand. Man that is huge. He also created the tiniest cell that when you look at it through the correct tools, it is another universe in itself, and just consider the human body. Pretty amazing.

We have so much to learn and so little time, shall we look for the things that count?

  1. “Therefore do not worry, ‘what shall we eat?’ or ‘what shall we drink?’ or ‘what will we wear?’ For… indeed your heavenly Father knows that you have need of these things. Strive first for the kingdom of God, and his righteousness, and all these things will be added unto you as well.”

Jesus had it right, man – but the message just didn’t get across too well…

  2. So true. Seems I’m always looking for the “next big thing”, when there are so many amazing gifts I have now that I have yet to take hold of.

I needed this reminder today. Thanks.
