Coming of age?

I have considered for many years the question, when do I become a man? Some would say, at the age of thirteen. Old school suggests that age thirty is the age of becoming a man. Maybe it’s different for each of us. I at the young age of sixty-four believe that I have almost gotten there. Some of us mature late in life I guess. Or maybe coming of age as a man or woman is when you are finally reaching the time when you can actually begin to see across to the other side.

Interestingly enough when we are of an age that we are not much use on this side, we are fully equipped to cross over to the other side. Ironic isn’t it how everything is just the opposite or how we think it should be.
