Acceptable
Have you ever noticed how most people don’t like themselves? How many friends do you have that are truly comfortable in their own skin? Why is it that there are so many with such a low esteem? I wonder if it’s because someone in the family as in some way belittled them or abused them in some way, or perhaps when they were in school the other kids do that thing that kids do to each other when they themselves are trying to feel better than everyone else. I can’t truly say I know anything about the true cause, but I do have an idea about a true remedy. You see for many years I walked in the truth that I was made in Gods image, but something happened and I fell off the ego train, and it has taken many years to find the answer to my dilemma.
We have a tendency to be self-absorbed, introspection is our daily ritual, consequently we live in a very small circle of life. It’s all about me is the key but not really cute phrase of the day. There becomes a necessity to break out of our own little world and start to look to others. Starting to care more about someone else than our own little selves.
To understand that we are made in Gods image is also important, but not so we can inflate our own ego and flaunt it to others. No! but so we can find it acceptable to be who we are, and to understand that if God made us we must have a purpose in life. God doesn’t make mistakes, what you call a blemish he calls a beauty mark. To be loved by you creator and cared for is freeing, exciting, and enlightening. This is the esteem all of us should embrace, because it is the truth. Only in truth can we begin to walk a new life, a life of giving and caring about everyone else more than we do ourselves. But! we should never see our selves as less than god intended. You are perfect in Gods eyes.
It’s hard to find knowledgeable people on this topic, but you sound like you know what you’re talking about! Thanks
